Galeria de Bellas Artes

Art Chamber is a product of the imagination of a couple: Rudolf Ludwig and Yolanda de Sousa Kammermeier. The Castelo Vermelho - the Red Castle - is situated behind the rather noisy Calangute - Candolim main Road in the Residential area of Gauravaddo in midst of palm trees and the local community. It's perfectly quiet, though not far from the beach either.

The architecture of the Castelo embraces the style of three religions: Christianity, Hinduism and Islam. 17 different rooftops spread over a building that is marked by 3 diverse towers, breaking the Goan architectureal line from the residential front to the more contemporary design of the exhibition hall.

The Gallery had been established back in 1997 and dedicated it's work to the promotion of local Goan artists. Since there were very few other initiatives during that period, one can say Art Chamber served as the craddle of Goan art and nursed its budding artists.Today there are Goan artists represented as well as national and international artists, making the Gallery again a frontrunner towards an exchange of national and international art. The location of Goa with its large international tourism is certainly supporting this cause.

Inside - or rather backside - 4 entrepreneurs from Mumbai established a Fine Dining Restaurant called I-95, which is frequented by the Mumbai and Bangalore scene as well as it is very popular with the tourists.
